Advocacy

Bradford District Community Legal Advice Service Partnership. CLASP aims to enable ‘access to justice for all’. In practice that means ensuring that people can easily and quickly get quality assured, independent legal advice and advocacy when they need help with:

Benefits, Debt, Housing, Employment, Immigration, Asylum, Family/domestic violence , Mental health, Community care, Health, Education, Consumer, Clinical negligence and Actions against the police and public law, click here

Choice Advocacy was set up in 2004 to provide independent, crisis advocacy services to adults with learning disabilities in the Bradford District and are completely independent of the Care Trust, NHS and any other service provides.

Crisis advocacy is designed to:

  • Help safeguard the rights of people with learning disabilities
  • Advocacy partners
  • Empower partnes to make informed decisions and to take greater control over their lives.
  • Support partners to get their views heard.
  • To represent the viewsof partners.
  • To protect partners who are particularly vulnerable.
  • To feedback issues raised by partners to service providers so that services can be constantly improved.

Bradford & Airedale Mental Health Advocacy Group (BAMHAG)

BAMHAG provided free, independent, confidential and user-led mental health advocacy service in Bradford and Airedale. Will speak for, or support, users speaking for themselves at official hearings, tribunals, reviews and other proceedings. Appointments in community and hospital settings, Bradford and Keighley offices or elsewhere by arrangement.

Craven Advocacy is a local organisation entirely independent of all services. Services are free and confidential. Advocacy is about helping people who may feel vulnerable to make their needs and wishes known to service providers so that they will receive the services that will improve their quality of life.
