Bradford LINk is thinking about new ways to support the Bradford District Mental Health Forum. The Bradford District Mental Health Forum is unique and useful because it care about ALL mental health services in the district, the Bradford LINk hope the meeting will help us develop a programme to make it an effective voice with the people who commission and provide mental Health services. The Bradford District Mental Health Forum has been established for more than 15 years and meets monthly, initially set up by interested Mental Health Survivor activists from Mind ect. The Forum currently brings together people from the University, Health Services and expecially Service Survivors and Carers, it has a constitution which was developed by Bradford Alliance on Community Care (BACC) with the involvement of Service Survivors and Carers. The Forum attracted the support of the then Social Services lead officers in particular Philip Lewer who when on to be the Director of Social Services. Service user's who attend the forum meetings have there expeneses paid by Bradford & Airedale Teaching Primary Care Trust (tPCT) The Bradford District Mental Health Forum is an indepentent service user voice for the Bradford District Care Trust (BDCT), it includes voices of various Service Users, Survivors and Carers from across the Bradford District as was as Service Users Development Workers employed by BDCT & tPCT and patriciptation from supported housing projects.
