Bradford People first are a self advocacy group run by and for people with learning disabilities. We help service providers make services better.

They have been commissioned to:

  • Consult people with learning disabilities for the learning disabilities partnership board.
  • To make a film on housing options for people with learning disabilities.
  • Run training for people who work with people with disabilities.
  • Run a health living project.
  • Run a summer scheme.
  • Make a picture disc.

Bradford People First have a user led training team that offers training on disability awareness, self advocacy, making things accessible, been user led and much, much more.

They are always looking for new members who are good at speaking up and saying how they would like things in Bradford to change for people with learning disabilities.

People First Keighley and Craven (previously known as The Out There Club) are a user-led voluntary organisation run by and for adults with learning disabilities.

They have developed from a social group into a an advocacy group, the management committee all have learning disabilities and we take control of our own projects and activities.

Mencap is the voice of learning disability. Everything we do is about valuing and supporting people with a learning disability and their families and carers.

We do this by working with people with learning disabilities, their families and the people who support them.
