supported by the Centre for Citizenship and the Mental Health community.
New framework for Mental Health The first ever framework for mental health has been launched focusing on a public health approach to maintaining good mental health, the report "Confident Communities, Brighter Futures" which offers a systematic evidence bace from which local authorities and the NHS can act reduce inequalities and improve mental health in their areas. The report brings together for the first time the key evidence ad aims to raise the profile of public mental health within organisations and across communities. By encouraging the inclusion of mental well-being joint strategic needs assessment, it strongly supports the case for how they link to commissioning priorities in the local area agreements. The report highlights early intervention and prevention through programmes such as psychological therapies, healthy workplaces and initiatives to reduce workplace stress, as well as education and lifelong learning to promote well-being and resilience. At its board meeting on 27th January 2009, Bradford and Airedale
teaching Primary Care Trust (the tPCT) invited the Bradford LINk to ask
people about adult mental health services. This was because it had just
finished asking people questions (called a consultation) and that this
was not completely successful. |
