The Sensory Needs Project The Sensory Needs Project provides support to groups of visually impairment & Deaf people in the Bradford District through practical help and training. What the work is about The work is about supporting group and individual to get their points of view across to the managers of local statutory service such as the NHS, the council and transport agencies. Who we work for We provide support to groups including: Bradford Association of Visually Impaired People, V.I Sahara (parents of visually impaired children) and the Bradford Association of Deaf People. We support people with sensory needs who are represented on the Disability hub of Bradford Council's Equality Forum and on othe statutory bodies. I am interested support development for disability people. This is my 2nd year as a volunteer with BACC. I was making design to the Sign Link for information. It takes 3 months to plan each event. We held one in March and the 2nd was held October. Both events were at the Carlisle Business Centre. I was working at the computer it was hard work. I am happy to do different types of work at BACC.

There is also a video explaining the commitment of Bradford Council to provide information in BSL, the preferred first language of many of Bradford’s Deaf community.
