Supporting People is the funding stream that provides the support costs of housing. In Bradford & district many groups of people benefit from the Supporting People programme including older people, homeless people, people with learning disabilities, mental health problems, physical disabilities and women fleeing domestic violence. The Supporting People programme funds different types of supported accommodation including floating support (support in your own home), emergency hostels, foyer, long and short term housing.

Supporting People Service User Involvement Group
Central to Supporting People is the involvement of people who use services. Supporting People in Bradford is developing a Service User Involvement Group that meets regularly to find out how well the team is operating. It will also get involved in activities and events. Bradford Alliance on Community Care (BACC) has been commissioned to support the development of the Service User Involvement Group. BACC is organising meetings, and supporting service users to become active in the Supporting People Programme.

Positive Engagement Event April 2008 DVD
Supporting People held a Positive Engagement Event on 14th April 2008. The day provided an opportunity for service users and stakeholders to identify what they value about Supporting People services; to think about what their ideal service would look like and to identify priorities for future provision in Bradford. During the event service users and other attendees were interviewed about what's important to them and how our support has changed their lives for the better.
